The SCC for the UK is looking for an Events Co-ordinator/Manager
Do you have experience in events and an interest in promoting Anglo-Swedish Business?
Established in 1906, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK (SCC) is a private, not-for-profit membership organisation, focusing on promoting trade between Sweden and the UK. The Chamber’s mission is to provide a platform for networking and to be a facilitator for business opportunities through its events, marketing publications and other services. Today, the Chamber offers its Members around 60 events per year. There are 400+ corporate Members within the network, with an additional 350 Members belonging to the Young Professionals of the SCC (YP). As responsible for the Chamber’s events, you will be part of a team that focuses on promoting SCC Members and developing a platform for business opportunities.
– Responsibility for the Chamber’s events involving short and long term planning of events together with permanent staff, researching ahead of events, generating ideas about speakers, venues and caterers.
– Focus on administration of the events, budgeting, execution and follow-up of the events.
– Development and implementation of new Member care strategies through the events.
To be successful you should have a background within customer relations and events management coupled with a proven track record of events organising and project work. You need to enjoy working with people, with tight budgets and be at ease in public. You must be used to working towards short deadlines and possess excellent communications skills, both in English and Swedish. You must also be prepared to work occasional evenings, as most events are held outside regular office hours.
You will work in a small team of four permanent staff, together with four scholars and two interns.
